The Middle TN Stormwater Assn. chapter along with both the
Middle Tennessee and Upper Cumberland Branches of TCAPWA
met on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the new Cookeville Public
Works facility.

workshops and training class information was discussed along
with TDEC updates on the Post-Construction Permit Manual
and Cookeville’s QLP (Qualified Local Program) program.
Following lunch, Tracy Meggs facilitated a tour of the new
public works facility that brings the entire Cookeville Public
Works Department together under one roof. During redevelop-
ment of the Heritage Ford Dealership that sat empty for over five
years, the city was able to remove over one-half acre of pavement
and turn it into green space and add several water quality BMPs
(best management practices). Currently the city is construct-
ing a bioswale/raingarden to capture one-third of the property’s
stormwater runoff.
