celebration. Our Board
of Mayor and Aldermen
approved, and the Mayor
signed a proclamation
declaring the week
Public Works Week. We
also participated in a Touch-A-Truck event with our
library the Saturday before to promote Public Works
through our vehicles to an estimated 1,500 children
who came through that morning. We invited Leadership
Germantown, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, the
Environmental Commission and fellow City Department
Heads to the cookout. The Fire Chief, John Selberg,
presented challenge coins to all Public Works Employees
in recognition of the City achieving Class 1 ISO rating.
Our water system score was 38 out of a possible 40. This
has been a point of pride for our City and will help keep
insurance rates low, saving our residents’ money.
It was a tremendous celebration!
