Lower East Branch Meets in Chattanooga ByMollyGilbert

East Branch Director Justin Holland
said, “APWA is a great organization.” He
encouraged visitors to join and reap the
benefits of learning best practices and dis-
covering what other agencies are able to
do for you. “APWA connects the pieces,”
he said.
The Lower East Branch Quarterly
Meeting, sponsored by HDR, was held
on March 23, 2015, at the Chattanoogan
Hotel where Shane Womack, Business
Group Leader, Associate Vice President of
HDR Engineering presented a wide range
of projects and expertise represented in
transportation, resources, waste, water
and wastewater. With 9,200 employees
and 225 locations throughout the world,
HDR representatives highlighted their
Tennessee offices in Chattanooga and
Murfreesboro/Nashville. Their teams have
worked on projects such as the Preston
Circle Drainage Study and the Ross’s
Landing repairs in Chattanooga, the
Smoky Mountain Foothills Parkway, I-65
widening in downtown Nashville and ac-
celerated emergency construction on State
Route 7 slide repair in Maury County.
After lunch, two pairs of Nashville Pred-
ators tickets door prizes were awarded
by Stringfellow Inc., and the Tennessee
Chapter sponsored a $50 gift card draw-
ing for APWA Young Professionals who
attended the meeting. Attendees had the
opportunity to see an Incline-Vac Utility
Excavator on exhibit by CMI Equipment
Sales, Inc. out of Nashville.
